Growing up, Brett Dennen's parents encouraged him to have a cultured view on life, to gain perspectives unavailable to him in public school. He spent most of his time growing organic vegetables and listening to Paul Simon's 'Graceland', which led to his passion for social change. In college, Brett studied social movements by getting out of the classroom and involved in the community. Through his music, Brett continues his quest for social change; that is what Love Speaks is all about. The idea is simple. We want to give you the opportunity to listen to music while offering ways to get involved with positive causes in your community. We feel teaming up with these organizations is vital in creating a just and peaceful world. So at most Brett Dennen shows, there will be a local non-profit organization present, providing information about the work they do in your community and how you can get involved. In our world today we need to take every chance we have to empower people to make change. We are hoping touring will provide a model for bridging socially conscious music and people.
